“No player ran further than Alex Iwobi” – Everton highlight Super Eagles midfielder’s excellent Man United display

The Nigerian international was the most actively running Blue at Goodison Park at the weekend, and his performance continues to attract applause from many

Everton has adjudged Alex Iwobi’s showing against Manchester United on Saturday as one of the best by any Toffee star at the Goodison Park.

With manager Frank Lampard keeping faith with the Nigerian ace and deploying him in a central midfield role, Iwobi delivered an energetic, dynamic, tireless performance that inspired Everton to a flawless 1-0 victory over the Red Devils.

Iwobi was sharp in his movement and relentless in pressing, as the 25-year-old racked up two interceptions, one tackle, one clearance, and one key pass.

Iwobi was also involved in the buildup to Anthony Gordon’s well-struck winning goal.

Pleased with Iwobi’s display against United, Everton fans have warmed up to the Nigerian, while Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has spared no words praising him.

But the spotlight has been beamed more on Iwobi’s constant running and endless pressing, with Everton taking to the club’s official Twitter account to acknowledge that no player ran further than the Super Eagles star.

With their latest win, Everton remain four points above the relegation zone and could retain their Premier League status if they win four of their last eight matches.
