Moses Simon’s performance creates new Nantes record

The fleet-footed Nigerian star a put up a brilliant show at Lens to write his name in Nantes’ history books

Super Eagles forward Moses Simon’s two goals in Nantes’ 2-2 draw against Lens makes him the first Nantes player to be involved in 10 or more goals in three consecutive Ligue 1 seasons since Emiliano Sala (2016/17-2018/19).

Moses has been outstanding for the Yellow Canaries since his move from Levante in 2019. The Nigeria international spent a year on loan from Levante before sealing a permanent deal at the Beaujoire.

In his first season, Simon had five goals and five assists. Last season, he registered six goals and five assists.

After his performance against Lens, Simon has four goals and eight assists this season. This ensures that he smashes Emiliano Sala’s record at the club.

Sala spent four years at Nantes before securing a €17million move to Cardiff City in 2019. Unfortunately, the Argentine star died in a helicopter crash days after sealing his transfer to the Welsh outfit.
