Super Eagles captain was denied a chance to play in the Qatar 2022 World Cup but is undeterred
Ahmed Musa, captain of the Super Eagles has hailed his life’s journey and set aside praises for himself and how far he has come.
Musa, who was denied the chance to represent Nigeria at a third World Cup has continued with life at his Turkish club, Fatih Karagumruk.
The former Leicester City winger in a Twitter post on Tuesday urged people to be proud of how far they’ve come.
The 29-year old Nigerian international started out as a player of Aminchi Academy before going on to play for JUTH and Kano Pillars where he won the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Musa played for the Flying Eagles in the 2011 World Youth Championship and shone at the tounament. He also represented VVV Venlo in the Dutch Eredivisie before joining CSKA Moscow.
Musa had a lively time in Russia and moved to England afterwards. His time in the Premier League wasn’t as bubbly as he struggled for playing time.
He is Nigeria’s top scorer at the World Cup and has won the African Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles.
Musa is also Nigeria’s most-capped player with more than 100 appearances in the colours of the Super Eagles.
