The Hornets conceded five goals in a Premier League match for the second time this season, but Hodgson still picked some positives despite the loss
Watford boss Roy Hodgson has praised Super Eagles star Emmanuel Dennis and Ivory Coast defender Hassane Kamara for their performance in the Hornets’ 5-1 defeat at Manchester City.
The Hornets conceded five against a rampant and efficient Manchester City side. Kamara scored the only goal for Watford after he received a clever pass from Dennis.
However, Gabriel Jesus’ haul and assist ensured that Kamara’s 28th-minute strike was just a consolation for the Hornets.
It was a poor performance from Watford, but Hodgson picked out Dennis and Kamara as his top performers on the afternoon.
“He [Kamara] had a good game today,” Hodgson told the Watford website.
“There were performances out of the 11 players that I’m not unhappy with, and [Dennis and Kamara] are two of them who have done extremely well.
Dennis has been a shining light in the Watford darkness this season. The Nigeria international has racked up ten goals and six assists in the Premier League, but his performances have done little to help Watford.
The Hornets sit 19th on the log, seven points away from safety. And it would take nothing short of a miracle for Watford to escape relegation this season.
