Belgian champions Club Brugge set to profit from Super Eagles star’s potential summer move

The Belgian champions parted with their Nigerian import last summer but could still reap from that transfer twelve months on

Club Brugge are set to make more money on Emmanuel Dennis several months after he left the club should the Watford star leave the Vicarage Road as expected this summer.

Brugge allowed Dennis to move to England in August for €4 million, far less than their perceived valuation of the exciting forward following series of confrontations between the player and club.

But a senior official at the Belgian club has confirmed to The Athletic that a sell-on percentage, believed to be about five per cent, was inserted in the deal that took Dennis to Watford.

Dennis has been excellent since that switch, notching ten goals and six assists in 31 appearances in what has been one of the best performances by a Watford player in the Premier League.

The Hornets have, however, not fared well in the English top-flight and are favourites to get relegated after another loss to Manchester City on Saturday.

The club may be forced to sell Dennis should they get demoted to the Championship, with the Golden Boys hoping to get between 20 and 30 million euros for the Super Eagles star.

Club Brugge could make as much as one million euros from such a deal.

Leeds United are one of the clubs reportedly interested in signing the 24-year-old.
