Super Eagles camp bubbles, as ten players hit camp

Ten players have now hit the Abuja camp ahead of the crucial 2022 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Ghana.

Earlier on, Soccernet reported that there were six players in camp. But as at the last update by the NFF, other players had arrived at camp, raising the count to ten.

As at the time of this report, the players in the Super Eagles camp are Kelechi Iheanacho(Leicester City), William Troost-Ekong(Watford), Leon Balogun (Rangers), Semi Ajayi (West Brom), Ola Aina (Torino), Frank Onyeka (Brentford), Odion Ighalo (Al Hilal), Daniel Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs), Ahmed Musa (Karagumruk), and Oghenekaro Etebo (Watford).

Coach Augustine Eguavoen still awaits the arrival of 15 players, and proper training is yet to commence.

Striker Sadiq Umar would be involved in Almeria’s game against Tenerife as they continue to charge for promotion from the Spanish second division. However, he is expected to leave Spain immediately after the game and land in Abuja on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, as the wait for the Super Eagles camp to reach full capacity continues, the Ghanaian team have already commenced training.
