The Super Eagles star has an important date with the European Champions on Wednesday evening, and he is fired up for it
Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has expressed confidence ahead of Al Hilal’s semifinal clash against Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Ighalo left Al Shabab for Asian Champions Al Hilal in January. And on his debut, he made a significant impact, scoring the first goal in their 6-1 humiliation of Aljazira in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup.
The victory ensured that Al Za’eem secured a clash against European Champions Chelsea.
Ighalo is not a stranger to the Blues, having played against Chelsea six times during his time in the Premier League with Watford and Manchester United.
The 32-year-old has a decent record against the former Premier League champions. His teams have secured two draws, a win, and three losses against Chelsea.
And ahead of the clash, Ighalo believes Al Hilal have enough in their tank to claim a famous victory.
“We’re going to play against Chelsea, a good team which I have played against before, but as you know, the goal of the team and the fans is to win because this team doesn’t understand losing,” Ighalo told FIFA’s website as per Marca.
A victory for Al Hilal will give them their first-ever appearance at the finals of the Club World Cup.
