‘Technical, pacy & Unpredictable’: Ex-Juventus star praises Chukwueze’s display against Barcelona

The 22-year-old winger had a brilliant game against the Catalan giants, even though it was not enough to save his side from a defeat

Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has praised Samuel Chukwueze’s performance against Barcelona on Saturday night.

Chukwueze came on in the second half at the Estadio La Ceramica to score the equaliser after Frenkie De Jong had put Xavi Hernandez’s men ahead.

The Nigerian international was also a constant menace to Barcelona defenders down the right flank and could have claimed an assist to his goal after he set up Manuel Trigueros with a delightful through ball.

Although Memphis Depay’s late strike and Philippe Coutinho handed Barca the three points, Chukwueze showed his brilliance in the minutes he played, and that has earned him praises from Oliseh.

The former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund star took to his Twitter account to praise the former Golden Eaglets star’s quality.

Oliseh tweeted: Excited by Naija’s own Samuel Chukwueze’s recovery from injury & this exceptional goal scored vs Barcelona. Technical, pacy & Unpredictable, Always love to watch this bunch of Talent perform.. bravo Lil bro.

Chukwueze has now scored two goals in ten appearances for Villarreal this season, following his return from a lengthy layoff last month.
