The 24-year-old was not included in the latest Super Eagles squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers due to an injury, which could now keep him out for a while
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set to be on the sidelines for weeks after picking up a hamstring injury.
Ndidi had played in all of Leicester City’s games this season bar the Europa League clash against Legia Warsaw on Thursday due to the red card he got in the opening group game against Napoli.
However, he has been nursing a hamstring injury for a while, which is now aggravated, and set to keep him out for at least a month.
The former Genk star will also miss Nigeria’s doubleheader World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic due to the injury.
Ndidi has been unlucky with injuries in the last 12 months, but that’s also because he is one of the Foxes players that have played the most games.
The 24-year-old missed almost three months of action last season due to an adductor injury. However, the game against Legia Warsaw is also the first Leicester game he has missed since February.
And with the injury set to keep him out for a month, Ndidi could miss key games against Manchester United and Arsenal.
