Inter Milan sends birthday greetings to former Super Eagles star

Inter Milan has sent a message to former player Obafemi Martins on his 37th birthday. The former Super Eagles striker turns 37 today, 28th October 2021, and his former club has recognized Martin’s birthday.

Inter Milan posted pictures of the former Nigerian International on their official website with the caption;

‘Power, determination and somersaults: best wishes to ‘Oba Oba’ Martins.’

The striker was famous for his strength and acrobatic goal celebrations during his time in Italy.

Obafemi Martins joined Inter Milan’s set-up in 2002. He stayed with the Italian giants until 2006 before leaving for Newcastle in the Premier League.

During his time at Inter Milan, Obafemi Martins scored 49 goals in 134 appearances for the club.  One of his famous goals for Inter was in a Champions League game against Arsenal.

Obafemi Martins was also an integral part of the Super Eagles. Obafemi donned the famous green and white for Nigeria from 2004 to 2015. Martins also found the net 18 times for the Super Eagles.

The former Newcastle United and Inter Milan striker now plays for Wuhan in the Chinese Super League.
