The 2013 African champions have been handed a major boost as they aim to redeem their damaged reputation in their second leg clash against Les Fauves
Super Eagles have received good news on the injury front ahead of their 2022 World Cup qualifier second leg clash against the Central African Republic.
The three-time African champions will be able to call on the services of Kelechi Iheanacho and Paul Onuachu for the clash in Douala.
Both players were doubts for the encounter due to injuries, but they took part in the team’s training session on Friday before departing for Cameroon.
Iheanacho picked up a knock in the first leg of the game and had to be taken off at halftime, while Onuachu missed the match entirely.
However, the two players were part of the travelling party and are expected to play a part in the match. The Leicester City man is expected to keep his place in the starting lineup, while Onuachu’s aerial presence could be an option off the bench.
The availability of Onuachu is a big boost for Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr as the 27-year-old is the country’s leading scorer in Europe this season with 11 goals in 13 games.
Onuachu has also scored in three of his last four games for the Super Eagles and will hope he can continue in the same vein on Sunday.
A win for Nigeria will put the team in a strong position to qualify for the final playoff round.

Pls tell d coach to resign from digrace
Go. Super eagles
If am correct it was during Rohr's tenure that we suffered defeats in the hands of SA, Madagascar and CAR.
For anyone calling for sack or resignation of d coach shows ignorance and lack of appreciation of d coach's efforts all these years. 17 unbeaten home run and u're talking about sack or resignation. Nigerian fans self!
Congrats on winning the 17 unbeaten home run trophy. Smh
Most win for Nigeria
Please, we should look for a sound coach. Even his substitution nothing to hold on. He should be able to bring out the best out of every talent at his disposal. To me , he is not what we need now in sSuper Eagle.
Wether our darling super eagles win their remaining matches or not I will still not be happy with the coach because I wonder why NFF crew still keeping him , my point is that if an indigenous coach can handle the team for less than 5 years and win afcon, qualified the team for w.c, get the team through to round of 16. Does it mean there can never be another Stephen kechi in Nigeria anymore?
The coach is not the problem, but the platers are below par. They think to highly of themselves thinking they would win a match just by turning up and the oponent will just collapse without any effort.
No creativity in midfield and the midfielders can't provide support to strikers nor even try to score themselves like JJ Okocha used to strike powerful shots to score goals in his days with SE.
These SE eagles players are pretty average and would always be beaten by the top five African teams, like Algeria, Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon and even Ghana.
Can you reread all you've typed and see how you sound? Who callrd up/selected the players? Next time, think very well before you type.
You're funny, the top 5 you just mentioned have all been beaten by Nigeria within the last 5 years already so what exactly is your point?
David, You are completely correct.
No excuses..
The super eagles player need to be committed, determine, and more focus in every matches.and play the Italian kind of football,No mercy! To me,the Coach has no problem cos the coach will only give them formation for the game and ditch out instructions.is the player who are in the pitch to give out the result.PRIDE is what I see among the player's.
Our super need local base coach , or ex footballer as Coach
Not foreign one.
We can not survive under a quack coach
There was an element of luck in the SE match against CAR here in Lagos. A lot of misses. The match should have ended 5-0 if luck was on SE side. SE will definitely do well in the return match. Trust me.
