The two players were on target on Thursday night, and by doing so, they reached a major milestone in their respective careers
Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu both made history last night after they both scored for their respective clubs in the Europa League.
Osimhen fired in a brace to help Napoli come back from two goals down to secure a point in their clash against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
The two strikes against Leicester took Osimhen’s tally at club level in his professional career to 50 goals, while Onuachu now has 50 goals for Genk.
Osimhen’s 50 goals are equally shared among three of the four clubs he has played for so far. The 22-year-old scored 20 goals in 36 appearances for Royal Charleroi before firing another 18 in 38 appearances for Lille.
Although he has had stop-start progress at Napoli, he has scored 12 times in 33 appearances for the club, including last night’s encounter.
Meanwhile, Onuachu scored a stoppage-time winner as Genk began their campaign with a 1-0 win over Rapid Vienna at the Allianz Stadion.
The Nigerian international now has 50 goals in 78 appearances for The Smurfs. He scored a chunk of it last season, which saw him score 35 times in 41 games.
He’s on course to replicate the same number this season, having scored four times in eight games already.
