The forward got rewarded for his performances in August as he beat other players to win August player of the month
Emmanuel Dennis has joined the list of Nigerian strikers who have won the player of the month award at their clubs after he was named Watford’s player of the month for August.
The Nigerian striker was in fantastic form in August, scoring the Hornets’ first goal of the season and also providing an assist as Watford got off to a perfect start with a 3-2 win over Aston Villa.
It hasn’t really been a dream start for the former Club Brugge man as Watford haven’t won since their victory against Villa, falling to defeats against Brighton, Tottenham and Wolverhampton wanderers.
However, he still beat international compatriot Oghenekaro Etebo and Ismaila Sarr as he amassed the highest number of votes.
He has now replicated the feat of Nigeria ex-internationals Odion Ighalo, who won the same award at Watford, and Osaze Odemwingie at West Brom.
