The action continues in the French Ligue 1 this weekend, but Les Canaries could be without their Nigerian import for the game against Lyon
Nantes coach Antoine Kombouare has stated that Nigerian winger Moses Simon may be absent from the squad when Nantes welcome Lyon to the Stade de la Beaujoire.
According to reports from L’equipe, Kombouare stated that the 27-year-old is suffering from a muscle injury, and he is pessimistic about Moses’ chances of recovery before the game.
“We are still waiting for the next sessions to make a decision (concerning them),” he said when quizzed about Moses and Randal Kolo Muani’s availability for the game.
The Nigeria international was taken off at halftime in Nantes’ Ligue 1 fixture against Rennes, which they lost 1-0. Moses has proven to be an integral part of Nantes this season, providing the assists for all their goals.
Nigeria face Liberia and Cape Verde in the World Cup qualifier next week, but with the recent restrictions on Nigeria’s Premier League entourage, coach Gernot Rohr will hope that Moses will recover in time to play for the Super Eagles.
