Super Eagles star ‘hilariously compared’ to the great Pele

There were a lot of standout performances from Super Eagles stars on Saturday, which has earned one of them a comparison with the Brazilian legend

Watford are still basking in the performance of Emmanuel Dennis and have jokingly compared him with the great Pele.

Dennis got off to a perfect start in the Premier League as he scored and provided another to help Watford to a 3-2 win in their first match back in the top-flight.

The Super Eagles star put the Hornets ahead inside the opening five minutes when he fired a low shot past Emiliano Martinez after his initial effort was blocked.

He celebrated by jumping high into the arms of Ismaila Sarr, who provided the assist. The celebration is similar to the one Pele created with Jarzinho in the 1970 World Cup final.

Watford could not resist, and they decided to compare their Nigerian star with arguably the greatest footballer of all time.

The Hornets posted the two pictures on their Twitter page, with the caption: The comparison continues.

Dennis performance also earned him the man of the match award. The 23-year-old, who joined Watford from Club Brugge this summer, will hope to continue in the same vein when Watford travel to the South Coast next week to take on Brighton.
