Serie A: Okereke makes his debut but Ebuehi missing as Venezia wait for first win of the season

The Venice-based side are still seeking their first win in the Italian Serie A after suffering their second loss of the new season

David Okereke made his debut for Venezia and played all 90 minutes while Tyrone Ebuehi watched from the bench.

But the former could not prevent the newly-promoted side from their second defeat of the season as they were beaten 3-0 by Udinese, who had their new signing, Isaac Success, on the bench.

Venezia were fresh off a controversial 2-0 loss to Napoli in their first game of the season, while Udinese secured a point against Juventus last week.

The game started with Venezia controlling the tempo of the game, while Udinese opted to lay back and try to hit on the counter.

Udinese’s football paid off in the 29th minute as Ignacio Pussetto broke the deadlock, slotting the ball behind Lezerinni brilliantly.

However, Venezia’s game changed soon after the goal as they were more direct, but two wonderful saves from Marco Silvestri kept the Serie A new boys out.

The second half started with both teams sticking to their tactics, but it was Udinese who again scored as 61st-minute substitute Gerard Deulofeu scored just nine minutes after coming on.

As the match wore on, Venezia got more desperate in their search for a goal, leaving spaces at the back. They paid for it in stoppage time as Nahuel Molina scored after a quick counter to make it 3-0.

Udinese secured their first win of the season. However, Venezia are still waiting for their first win, but they have the chance to retrace their steps during the two weeks International break.
