‘Imagine he went to Manchester United’-Ex-Spurs star says Ndidi can play for any club

The midfielder has been with the Foxes since January 2017, but a former England international believes he’s good enough to play for any of the top clubs

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has praised the qualities of Wilfred Ndidi ahead of Leicester City’s Community Shield clash against Manchester City.

Bent believes Ndidi is a top player and has the quality to play for any club in the Premier League. Ndidi joined Leicester City from Genk in 2017 and has gone on to become one of the best players in his position.

He’s the player that makes the Foxes tick, protecting the back four and laying the foundation for their attacking moves.

Since 2019, no player in Europe’s top five leagues has made more tackles than the Nigerian star. But despite his brilliant performances season after season, he’s yet to fall on the radar of the big clubs.

However, Bent believes he’s good enough to play for any of the clubs.

“I think he’s a top, top player,” Bent said on Talksport. In terms of the holding midfield role, I think he can get into pretty much any team in the Premier League.

“I think he can easily play in any club in the Premier League in terms of the holding role.”

Manchester United fans have urged their club to make a move for the Nigerian. It’s a view Bent also shares, who believes Ndidi will fit in perfectly with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.

“Imagine he went to Manchester United, Bent added. In the holding role, and then you’ve got Pogba and Fernandes.”

“For me, he is brilliant. He covers the back four well, he’s good in possession, and when he has to, he makes some sneaky fouls.”

“I don’t honestly understand why no one really has come for him,” the former England star concluded.
