Osimhen sends out Serie A warning as his brace puts Bayern Munich to the Sword

The Super Eagles striker looks unstoppable at the moment after he made it seven goals from three pre-season games as Napoli thrashed Bayern Munich

Victor Osimhen has sent out a warning to Serie A defenders after the Nigerian international continued his fine pre-season form with a brace in Napoli’s 3-0 win over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Saturday evening.

Much was expected from Osimhen after he joined Napoli from Lille for a club and African record last summer, but a shoulder injury and coronavirus reduced his impact with just ten league goals.

However, the 22-year-old has put the troubles of last season behind him and has started the pre-season on fire.

Osimhen opened his pre-season account with a four-goal haul in the thrashing of Anaunia before scoring the lone goal in the win over Pro Vercelli.

While the two games were against the lower-tier sides, his brace against Bayern Munich should send a warning to the rest of Serie A.

Surprisingly, there were no goals in the opening half of the encounter. But the second half turned out to be the Osimhen show as he scored two beautiful goals.

The former Lille man put Napoli ahead in the 69th minute after he got on the end of a loose ball in Bayern Munich’s half before taking a little run to fire in a shot from just outside the box past Sven Ulriech.

Osimhen again showed his quality in front of goal as he got on the end of Gianluca Gaetano to fire in a low shot for Napoli’s second in the 71st minute.

Zinédine Machach completed the win for Napoli with a third five minutes from time, but it was all about Osimhen’s performance.

The Super Eagles star now has seven goals in three pre-season games for Gli Azzurri.
