Moses Simon could leave Nantes this summer

One of Nigeria’s biggest talents in the French top-flight may be on the move this summer as a couple of clubs go head-to-head for his signature

The 2020/21 league season may be Moses Simon’s last in France after it emerged that Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon and Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg are jostling to sign him away from French side Nantes.

Simon is one of Nantes’ most influential stars and is considered an indispensable part of manager Antoine Kombouaré’s starting eleven.

The Ajax academy product scored eleven league goals in 26 Ligue 1 games in his debut season at Nantes while on loan from La Liga side Levante.

And despite a poor start to the campaign last term, the 26-year-old still managed eight league goals in 25 matches, as the Yellow Canaries avoid relegation by the whiskers.

His impressive output means Nantes are desperate to keep him at the club. But hit by tough financial times, they may be forced to sell should an admiring suitor submit an irresistible offer for the Super Eagles winger.

And according to a report by Foot-Sur7, Sporting Lisbon and RB Salzburg are the two leading clubs looking to tempt the former Trencin ace away from France.

A couple of unnamed Premier League and Championship sides are reportedly also monitoring the situation surrounding the versatile forward.
