Copa America: Super Eagles star celebrates Messi on his first international trophy

The Barcelona legend finally landed his hand on one of the few collections missing from his incredible number of titles

Super Eagles star Joe Aribo could not hide his excitement after Lionel Messi finally won an international trophy for the first time in his career.

Despite his greatness and winning a lot with Barcelona, Messi has always had to endure disappointment on the international stage with Argentina.

The 34-year-old missed out on World Cup glory in 2014, while he also suffered the same fate in two Copa America editions.

However, luck finally shined on him on Saturday as he led Argentina to a 1-0 win over Brazil in the final of this year’s Copa America.

It was Argentina’s first Copa America title since 1993, but the real story was Messi ending his long wait for a title with La Albiceleste.

Following the match, the 34-year-old received congratulations from the football world. Aribo was one of the players to celebrate Messi’s biggest achievement to date.

The Rangers midfielder took to his Instagram page to share a post of Messi with the Copa America title.

It’s not the first time Aribo would be praising the performance of other players. The former Charlton midfielder also raved about Pogba’s display at Euro 2020.
