Chelsea FC players Danny Drinkwater and Marcos Alonso have bid goodbye to former Nigerian winger Victor Moses after the west Londoners stated on Friday that they were parting ways with the former Premier League winner
Moses’ move to Spartak Moscow has been imminent for some time following a loan spell at the club last season.
The 30-year-old impressed in Spartak’s colours, scoring four goals and registering the same number of assists to help the side finish second in the Russian top-flight.
Spartak took up the option to sign him permanently, and Chelsea confirmed that the former Nigerian star has left the club after nine years.
Following the announcement, the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner took to social media to show his gratitude to Chelsea fans, players and club staff.
Moses said on his Instagram: “After nine fantastic years and 128 games for Chelsea Football Club, I have now officially left the club to join Spartak Moscow on a permanent transfer.
“I’ve loved every moment playing for Chelsea and leave with memories that I will cherish forever, including winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.
“I’ve always appreciated the love and support shown to me during my time at Stamford Bridge and would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody connected with the club, with a special mention to the incredible Chelsea fans who have always been brilliant with me.
“I would like to wish the club every success in the future. Thank you for everything. I’ll always have blue in my heart.
Marcos Alonso replied on Instagram, saying: “My bro! All the best 👊💪”.
Drinkwater also commented: “Congrats, big guy.
Moses contract with Spartak run until 2023.
