Following a month of top-quality action at Euro 2020, the focus now moves back to club football, with preparations for the new season underway

Premier League clubs have started their pre-season, and two Super Eagles stars have joined the rest of their teammates.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi have returned to club duty as they were pictured with their Leicester City teammates on the first day of pre-season training.

The two Nigerian stars participated in the first training session, which included light jogging and gym work at the Foxes training base.

Both players played a crucial part in the Foxes impressive run last season and will hope to carry the form into the new campaign.

Iheanacho, in particular, had a strong finish to the season. The former Manchester City man scored 19 goals in all competitions last season, but 16 came at the start of the year.

However, he’ll need to step up his game due to the increase in competition for places following the arrival of Patson Daka from RB Salzburg.

The same also goes for Ndidi, who has been a key player since he arrived in January 2017. The Nigerian international is one of Brendan Rodgers trusted stalwarts, but he can’t afford to let his level drop following the arrival of Boubakary Soumaré from Lille.

Meanwhile, Taiwo Awoniyi has also resumed training with Liverpool as he attempts to convince Jurgen Klopp that his immediate future lies at Anfield.
