The Super Eagles star will aim to help his Rangers side reach the playoffs of the Champions League after a nine-year wait.
Scottish Premier League champions, Rangers, the employers of Nigeria International, Joe Aribo, are just a few steps away from playing in the Champions League playoffs after a long hiatus from the competition.
The draws for the Champions League qualifiers were made today in Nyon, Switzerland. Rangers have not played in the Champions League since the 2011/2012 season.
In the draws today, The Gers were drawn against the winner of the match between Malmo FF and HJK Helsinki in the third qualifying stage. The winner of the match will then advance to the playoffs, with the draws scheduled for the 2nd of August.
Aribo is yet to feature for Rangers in pre-season due to a minor injury, but manager Steven Gerrard will hope to have his star player fit ahead of the clash, which is slated for the 3rd of August.
Aribo has never experienced Champions League football. But the 24-year-old has been a mainstay in the midfield for Gerrard, and he will hope to make his presence felt when his side takes to the pitch.
Aribo can also draw inspiration from his manager, who was a seasoned Champions League campaigner in his playing days.
He could also learn a few midfield tricks as Gerrard was the captain when Liverpool won the trophy in 2005.
