Spartak Moscow ready N8.8 billion offer as Frankfurt join race for Nigerian hitman

The Russians are satisfied with the services of former Chelsea ace Victor Moses and are planning to take another Nigerian forward to Moscow

Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow and German Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in signing Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq, adding to the number of suitors lining up to snap up the prolific Almeria forward.

But, according to Russian publication Objektiv, the Moscovites are preparing a bid of €18 million (N8.755 billion) for Sadiq, who has a massive €60 million buyout clause in his contract with Almeria.

The Spanish Segunda Division side is open to letting their striking ace leave for greener pastures barely a year after arriving from Partizan Belgrade.

But Almeria, who paid just €5 million for Sadiq, are reportedly demanding €30 million from any club willing to acquire the services of the former AS Roma striker.

The Spanish side is looking to earn as much as possible on the sale of their most prized asset, with Partizan waiting to receive 40% of his transfer fee as per the agreement in the contract that took him to Spain last summer.

La Liga side Sevilla led the race for Sadiq’s signature, and Getafe had had a €16 million bid rejected before Spartak emerged as a potential suitor.

The Russian giants qualified for the UEFA Champions League after finishing second in the league in the just-concluded season.

Former Super Eagles hero Victor Moses, then on loan from Chelsea, played a crucial role in helping Spartak Moscow meet that objective.

The 2013 Afcon winner would be waiting to receive Sadiq in Russia in the event of a done deal, as his loan deal has been made permanent.

Sadiq scored 20 league goals in his maiden season in Spain to set clubs jostling to impress him.
