Kelechi Iheanacho is the latest Nigerian star to visit Yahaya Bello

The Leicester City striker is the latest Nigerian footballer to visit the Kogi state governor, who is nursing a presidential ambition

The support keeps coming for Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello after receiving Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho at the Kogi statehouse.

Iheanacho’s visit comes just a few days after former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi also visited the number one citizen of Kogi.

Bello congratulated expressed his delight at seeing Iheanacho while he also congratulated the 24-year-old on his FA Cup win with Leicester City.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Bello said: “Finally, Senior Man Kells Kelechi Iheanacho don cut soap for me!

“It is always a pleasure to meet a teaming, Patriotic, Vibrant #nigerian #Youth.“Congratulations once again on your #facup win

Although the reason for Iheanacho’s visit is not yet known, it might have to do with Bello’s ambition to contest for Nigeria’s presidency in 2023.

It’s no more a secret that Bello is interested in contesting for Nigeria’s number one seat, and he has been seeking the support of prominent Nigerian youths.

Former Nigerian stars like Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Tijani Babangida, Garba Lawal and many others have also visited the Kogi state governor.

However, there’s still a long way to go for Bello as he still needs to win the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket.

  • This man is wasting his time. He can never be a president in Nigeria. A man who became governor by another man's misfortune.

  • If he like let Messi and Ronaldo both visit him that's has nothing to of him becoming the president of Nigeria ooo. Let him know that in the top of his brain.

    • U see!
We are still crying and lamenting on how na them them things they are doing and how we believed from our experience that our eyes don open , now they have started using this sets of stars to wine us again, they know the power belong to the youth and they now starting to understand that they can't underestimate the strength of the youth anymore. They are scared #collect there Moni and still vote them out in peace.

  • God Almighty have mercy on kogi state, 5 years as governor no project to commission even okene road very bad nd rubbish

  • It's a good thing he's connecting with the youth leaders who are making Nigerians proud by showing the world Nigerian brand. He's young and interested in the most streamed sports in the world. No man is perfect but I think it's time we give a young nigerian like Yahaya Bello the chance to pave the way for youthful leaders in the number one office in any nation. Go all out Sir. It's the time of the youths!

  • Charity begins at home. If Bello cannot make a positive difference in Kogi I wonder what he thinks he can offer to Nigeria. He is a very poor advert for youths in government.
