A Nigerian youngster is set for the biggest night of his life when Stade Rennes take on Paris Saint Germain in the Ligue 1
Stade Rennes have handed 17-year-old Nigerian teenager Lesley Ugochukwu his debut against the biggest opponents possible in PSG.
Ugochukuwu was born in Rennes but to Nigerian parents. He started his career with the club’s youth side and signed his first professional contract last year, which runs until 2024.
He becomes the fourth Nigerian after Elderson Echiejile, Ejike Uzoenyi and John Utaka to play for the Red and Blacks.
Ugochukwu plays in the midfield and starts in the same position against a star-studded PSG side. It’s a big test for him, especially against a PSG side that can’t afford to drop points.
Les Parisiens are in danger of losing the defence of their Ligue 1 title as they currently three points behind Lille with just two games left.
However, they could reduce the gap to one point with a win tonight.
