CAFCC: – Unuanel predicts the winner of Enyimba vs Pyramids Clash

The Peoples Elephants finished top of their group in dramatic fashion and have been drawn against the Egyptian side in the quarterfinal

Former Kwara United coach Samson Unuanel has tipped Enyimba FC to overcome Egyptian side Pyramids in the quarter-final of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The two-time African champions, who were bottom at a point emerged Group A winners with nine points in dramatic style following a stunning Cyril Olisema 95th minute goal, which earned them a 1-0 win against Orlando Pirates in their final group game at the Aba Stadium on Wednesday.

Pyramids also had some struggles in their group after suffering two consecutive defeats to Morocco’s Raja Casablanca.

But with nine points to their name, they finished second, three points ahead of third-place Nkana and six behind group winners Raja Casablanca.

Pyramids are set to take on the Aba Warriors in the first leg on May 16 in Egypt before heading to Abia, Nigeria, to play the return leg on May 23.

Reacting to the draws, Unuanel, in a chat with Soccernet.ng, stated that Enyimba has what it takes to progress to the next round of the competition.

“I really don’t see any threat coming from Pyramids when they face Enyimba because the Aba Boys look more determined for victory.

“The last game against the Orlando Pirates is an indication of their ‘never-say-die; attitude. It will take a miracle for Enyimba to lose against them.

“I know that the North Africans are known for tricks, and I don’t think they will be able to achieve that against Enyimba.

The winner between Pyramids and Enyimba will face the winner between Raja Casablanca and Orlando Pirates of South Africa.
