Ahmed Musa Reveals What He Hopes To Achieve At Kano Pillars

The Nigerian international made a sensational return to Sai Masu Gida after signing a deal until the end of the current season

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa was unveiled as a Kano Pillars player on Thursday, and he has vowed to lead the club to the league title.

Musa has been without a club for almost seven months before signing for Pillars on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

The deal takes the former Leicester City man back to his first and only club in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Super Eagles captain was one of the few national team players that played in the domestic league before moving abroad.

Musa played for Pillars in the 2009/2010 season, scoring 18 league goals, which as of then, was the most goals scored by a player in a single campaign.

Over ten years later, the 28-year-old is back at the same club, and he hopes to win a league title with the club this time.

“I left Pillars over 10-years ago without winning the league then, but now, by God grace, I will make a special record by leading the club to the Nigeria Professional Football League title,” Musa said at his unveiling ceremony.

Musa’s goal looks achievable as Pillars are in the race for the title this season, with the team currently second but level on points with leaders Kwara United after 19 games.

The Nigerian international will don the number seven jersey and could make his second debut when the NPFL resumes April 28.
