The Super Eagles shot-stopper was in goal, but Sparta Rotterdam suffered their ninth loss in the Dutch top-flight this season
Maduka Okoye made his 12th league appearance in the Eredivisie but he could not help Sparta avoid defeat at FC Utrecht.
The Nigerian has four clean sheets in the league, but Sunday’s 1-0 loss was the 19th goal he has conceded this season.
But despite the result, Okoye was still impressive in goal, making two saves and winning one aerial duel. The first half ended goalless, although it was Utrecht that dominated possession.
The second half was also heading in that direction until Othman Boussaid fired in the winner two minutes from time following a ball from Sander Van de Streek.
Utrecht moved up to eighth with the win while Sparta Rotterdam drop to tenth with 21 points from 18 games.
Next up for Okoye and his teammates is a clash against Ado Den Haag next Sunday.
