The Super Eagles star conceded a late goal, but he was still brilliant in between the sticks as Henk Fraser’s men secured a vital away win in the Dutch top-flight.
Maduka Okoye delivered another superb performance as Sparta Rotterdam earned precious three points away from home following a 3-1 victory over Willem II.
Okoye, who had a difficult start after joining from Fortuna Dusseldorf, has now kept goal in Sparta’s last six league games.
The 21-year-old would be disappointed to concede late in the game, but he was crucial to the away side victory, making two vital saves.
Lennart Thy opened the scoring for the Castle Lords inside six minutes before Deroy Duarte doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time.
Duarte then scored his second and Sparta’s third six minutes after the break, and it looked like Henk Fraser’s men would go away with the clean sheet until Kwasi Okyere Wriedt pulled one back in the third minute of added time for Willem.
Nonetheless, it was still a brilliant win for Sparta as they moved up to ninth on the table with 15 points from 12 games.
