The two players missed Nigeria’s friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia last month, but they are ready to give their all for a win against Sierra Leone
Victor Osimhen and Joe Aribo have assured fans that the Super Eagles will do everything to ensure victory against the Leone Stars on Friday evening.
Nigeria host Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Friday, in what is the first leg of their back to back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The three-time African champions go into the clash without a win in their last two games following a loss to Algeria and a draw against Tunisia in October.
However, Osimhen and Aribo, who missed the two clashes last month, have assured fans that the team will go all out for victory.
Although Osimhen admits it won’t be a walk in the park, he insists the team is in top shape to overcome their West African rivals.
When asked what should Nigerians expect from the game, Osimhen replied: “Of course nothing but victory.”
“But to be realistic, the game will never be easy, so we have to prepare, which is what we have been doing.”
The former Lille star also revealed he’s delighted to back in the team after missing the last two matches.
“And it’s also good for me to be back in the squad, and I think we are all ready, and we will give our all for the team,” he added.
Rangers star, Aribo, also echoed Osimhen’s comments, saying fans should expect the best from him.
Speaking after he was asked what fans can expect from him, Aribo said: “I bring energy, I want to play fast and make it hard for my opponents and win the game of course.”
