The Super Eagles are already without Moses Simon and Kenneth Omeruo for the clash against the Leone Stars, but that’s not the end of their injury woes
Nigeria will be without the services of Frank Onyeka for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Sierra Leone on the 13th and 17th of November respectively.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation, Onyeka will miss the doubleheader due to an injury with Abdullahi Shehu called-up as his replacement.
Details about Onyeka’s injury are unknown, but the 22-year old played the full minutes of Midtjylland’s 4-0 victory over Copenhagen.
However, his absence may be due to the travel restrictions placed on Scandinavian countries as a precaution against Covid-19.
Shehu, who left Burssaspor to join Omonia Nicosia in September, now has a chance to add to his 27 international caps.
The 27-year-old was not in the squad that played Algeria and Tunisia in last month’s international friendly games.
