The former Lille hotshot lent his support to the #EndSars movement as finally got off the mark in the Italian top-flight
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored his first competitive league goal for Napoli, and he celebrated by displaying a #Endsars shirt.
Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille for an African and club-record fee of 81.3 million euros. Although he scored in two of Napoli’s pre-season games, he was yet to open his competitive account before today.
However, that changed as he scored Napoli’s fourth in the thrashing of Atalanta. The 21-year-old got on to a long ball from the back with his chest, before taking another touch to fire into the bottom corner from outside the box.
Osimhen then celebrated his first competitive goal by lending his support for the #Endsars protest, which has been going on for over one week in Nigeria.
Napoli had taken the lead through Hirving Lozano in the 23rd minute. The Mexican international then scored his and Napoli’s second four minutes later. Matteo Politano added a third in the 30th minute before Osimhen added a fourth.
Atalanta pulled one back through Sam Lammers, but it was Napoli who took the spoils.
