The Super Eagles play African rivals, Cote D’Ivoire and Tunisia, in two international friendly games scheduled for next month
Kenneth Omeruo is a major doubt for Nigeria’s October friendly matches against Cote D’Ivoire and Tunisia in Austria.
The 26-year-old could miss the high-profile games after he was taken off in Leganes pre-season friendly against Albacete over the weekend.
Omeruo was forced out 12 minutes into the encounter due to some physical issues and was replaced by Josua Mejías. The extent of his injury is not known yet, but he is set to miss Leganes opening La Liga Smartbank clash against Las Palmas.
Omeruo’s injury will be a worry for Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, ahead of the clash against the Elephants and Carthage Eagles. The former Middlesbrough star is one of the key players in the German’s team.
Rohr is expected to name his squad for the two games next week and will be keeping a close eye on Omeruo’s fitness.
