Ighalo Wants United Stay But Says The Decision Is Out Of His Hands

The former Super Eagles star is into the final five months of his loan deal at Old Trafford, but he would love to say beyond the period

Odion Ighalo has said he wants to stay at Manchester United beyond his current loan deal, but he admits the decision is not his to make.

Ighalo joined the Red Devils on a loan deal from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua in January and has settled in well at the club.

The initial deal was supposed to keep him at Old Trafford until the end of last season, but it was extended for another seven months.

But as he enters the final five months of the new deal, Ighalo revealed it would be his wish to stay, but it is in United’s hands.

When asked by the BBC if he would like to stay, Ighalo said: “It’s my darling team, I’ll like to stay, but that does not depend on me, it depends on how I work and people up there.”

Ighalo, however, said he is not thinking about that right now, and his only focus right now is the start of the new Premier League season.

“But for now, I don’t want to think about that. Now it’s for us to start the season this weekend. We grind from now till whenever,” he added.
