The coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the globe, has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and infected millions of others but it’s good news this time for another Nigerian star
Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu has recovered from COVID-19, his latest test results came out negative, and he has been able to rejoin his teammates in Girondins Bordeaux training ground.
It would be recalled that the 22-year-old forward tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on his return to Bordeaux from Nigeria on July 6. Kalu was then isolated for 14 days, after which he was taken for another test, which came out negative.
As a result, the former KAA Gent star was allowed to rejoin his colleagues in training.
Bordeaux continued their preparation ahead of the coming season with a 4-2 loss at Saint Etienne on Saturday.
After enduring an underwhelming campaign last term in which he scored just once in 19 games, Kalu has a lot to prove during the 2020-21 season.
Despite his struggles, though, Kalu is still attracting interests from Turkey with Fenerbahce reportedly readying a multi-billion naira offer for the youngster.
