Reports: Nigerian Star Agrees N1.85 Billion Porto Deal

The Dragons have reached an agreement to sign full-back Zaidu Sanusi from Santa Clara, completing a remarkable rise for the young Nigerian

Nigerian defender Zaidu Sanusi has agreed to move to Porto, after the Portuguese champions enjoyed a breakthrough in negotiations with fellow Primeira Liga Santa Clara, according to TVI24.

Sanusi will put pen to paper on a five-year deal, which is expected to cost Porto N1.85 billion (€4 million).

It’s a significant move to the top for the Lagos-born ace who only last year was roughing it out at third division side Mirandela.

A free transfer switch to Santa Clara last summer proved crucial, with the 23-year-old full-back going on to score once and provide three assists in 29 games across all competitions.

Sanusi’s deal will reportedly be officially confirmed after he completes his medical in Boavista in the coming hours.

Porto will be delighted to have secured the signature of Sanusi, with Greek giants Olympiacos, at one point leading the race for his services.
