Nigeria’s Eligible Star Is Also A Champions League Winner

In what has been an unusual year, Bayern Munich ended the 2019/2020 season with a sixth European trophy following a 1-0 victory over PSG in the final of the UEFA Champions League on Sunday night

Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee is a Champions League winner at the age of 19 after Bayern’s victory over Paris Saint Germain on Sunday.

Kingsley Coman’s header in the 59th minute was enough for the Bavarian giants to complete the treble having won the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal Cup already.

Zirkzee, who was born in the Netherlands but also eligible to play for Nigeria, was an unused substitute last night.

However, he received a medal and joined another player of Nigerian descent in the Bayern team, David Alaba, as a Champions League winner.

Reacting to the win, Zirkzee took to his Twitter account to express his happiness, saying it’s a dream come true for him.

The 19-year-old is touted as Die Roten’s next big star, and he showed why he is rated highly in the few games he played for the first team this season.

Zirkzee scored four times and registered one assist in nine Bundesliga appearances for Bayern. He also featured two times in the German Cup, while he has one Champions League appearance to his name.
