Nigerians Abroad: Boniface, Onyekachi, James In Goals Spree

This weekend’s round of matches has kicked off in fantastic goalscoring style for Nigerian stars outside the shores of the country and Soccernet.ng brings you the latest update.

Victor Boniface grabbed a brace to inspire Norway Eliteserien leaders Bodoe Glimt to a comfortable 6-0 victory over IK Start at the Aspmyra Stadion on Saturday.

It was the exciting 19-year-old striker’s fourth and fifth goal in only three starts for coach Kjetil Knutsen’s side who are now seven points clear at the top despite having a game in hand against second-placed Molde.

Molde also earned a hard-fought 2-0 win over on-form Odd Ballklubb at the Aker Stadion with their Nigerian forward Leke James instrumental to that victory.

James had the chance to open the scoring for the hosts from the penalty spot after 75 minutes, but he missed his kick, only to find the back of the net two minutes later.

Marcus Holmgren Pedersen then made sure of the points for Molde deep into injury time.

In Finland’s Ykkonen, young Nigerian midfielder Ifeanyi David Onyeanula came off the bench to score what proved to be the winning goal to help KTP claim all three points in the 3-2 away defeat of Kajaani at the Kajaanin Stadium.

Bibaku’s 23rd-minute strike cancelled Ereola’s early opener for the visitors before Ramadingaye’s penalty restored KTP’s lead.

Onyeanula then netted the third goal of the game – the 20-year-old’s first goal of the season – six minutes from time before Severino reduced the deficit for the hosts.

In the South Africa Premier Soccer League, dynamic Nigerian striker Augustine Chidi Kwem made the difference as Chippa United beat Baroka 1-0 at the Bidvest Stadium.

The 23-year-old’s winning strike arrived in the 7th minute, and it proved to be enough to lift the visitors to 12th on the 16-team table, three points above the relegation zone.

Young forward Paschal Onyekachi Durugbor scored on the hour-mark to power lowly Soliman to an impressive 2-0 victory over former African champions Etoile du Sahel in the Tunisian top flight.

It was the 20-year-old attacker’s first goal of the season in his fourth appearance for Soliman.
