Nantes Target Another Nigerian Star

The Ligue 1 side already signed Moses Simon on a four-year deal, and he could be soon be playing with one of his international teammates

Mikel Agu could be on his way to the French top division after reports emerged that Nantes are interested in his services.

According to Footsur7, Les Canaries are looking for a replacement for captain, Abdoulaye Traore, who is expected to leave the club this summer.

And one player they’ve identified as a perfect replacement is Super Eagles star, Agu. The 27-year-old currently plays for Portuguese side, Vitoria Guimaraes, and has also earned seven caps for Nigeria.

Nantes will have to convince Guimaraes to sell as Agu is an important player in Tiago Mendes side, and he also has a contract that runs till 2022.

Agu made 16 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight last season with 14 coming as starts. In the sixteen games, the Super Eagles star scored once while he registered two assists.  He also featured six times in the Europa League.
