The Nigerian international’s qualities were missed as Rangers played out a barren draw against Livingston in the Scottish Premiership encounter between the two sides
Rangers manager has revealed Joe Aribo missed the Scottish top-flight clash against Livingston on Sunday due to an ankle injury.
Aribo had opened his account for the new season in the Gers win over St. Johnstone, but it appears he picked up an injury also.
Although he could’ve played against Livingston on Sunday, Gerrard revealed the club decided to risk him, but confirmed he hopes to have him back for the clash against Kilmarnock next Sunday.
Speaking after the draw, the former Liverpool captain said; “I’m hoping to have him (Aribo) back for next weekend.”
He’s got a small ankle problem that we scanned. There’s a bit of swelling there, which is obviously a big risk.
Rangers struggled to break down a resilient Livingston side as they missed Aribo’s creativity in the final third. Gerrard admitted the result could’ve been different had Aribo played, but said the club made the right call.
“We made the right call, but I think we certainly missed Joe today as he is obviously a game-changer in the final third,” Gerrard added.
