Champions League: Gernot Rohr Reveals How Bayern Can Stop Neymar And Mbappe

The German champions take on the French Ligue 1 winners in the final of Europe’s biggest club competition in Lisbon on Sunday

Paris Saint Germain have arguably the three most potent attackers in the world in Neymar Mbappe and Di Maria. Still, Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, believes there’s a way Bayern Munich’s defence can stop the trio.

Bayern face PSG in the final of the UEFA Champions League, but they would’ve to find a way to cage the attacking prowess of Neymar and Mbappe if they are to win their sixth European Cup.

Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta and RB Leipzig are some of the teams that have found it difficult to stop the attacking threat of PSG this season.

Although Bayern go into Sunday’s clash as the slight favourites, either of PSG’s trio is capable of coming up with a piece of magic and take the game by the scruff of the neck.  However, Rohr believes Bayern can stiff PSG’s attack by closing the individuals down quickly.

“These are big names on the offensive”, Rohr told abendzeitung-Muenchen. Neymar and Mbappé have to be disturbed while controlling the ball so that they cannot turn.

“You always have to be close to them, ideally with several players. Overall, it would be good for Bayern not to be as high in defence as they were last time. But Flick must have recognised that too.

Bayern will be hoping to win their sixth Champions League crown while PSG are in search of their first trophy in Europe’s premier club competition.
