The 2019/2020 campaign is still currently on, but players are already changing clubs ahead of next season, and one Super Eagles on the move
Nigeria international, Ogenyi Onazi is reportedly close to signing a three-year-deal with Serbian Champions, Red Star Belgrade.
According to ESPN journalist, Colin Udoh, the 27-year-old is currently in talks with Red Star officials, and he’s expected to leave Denizlispor this summer as negotiation is at an advanced stage.
It’s been a difficult last few years for Onazi who was out for the majority of 2019 due to a knee injury. The Super Eagles star only joined Denizlispor from Trabzonspor in January, but he made just seven appearances in all competitions for the Turkish club.
Should he join Red-Star, Onazi will get the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season following Red Star’s title victory in Serbia’s top division.
The Red-Whites defended their Super Liga title successfully, finishing 14 points clear of Partizan Belgrade.
