‘Disappointed’ Ndidi Finally Reacts To Leicester’s Champions League Miss

The Nigeria international enjoyed an exceptional campaign, but it still ended sadly for his club as the Foxes missed out on Champions League football on the last day of the season

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has revealed that he was disappointed that the Foxes only qualified for the Europa League after spending much of the campaign in the top-four places.

Ndidi was superb in his 32nd league game of the season, but Brendan Rodgers’ men still fell to a final day 2-0 defeat to the Red Devils at the King Power Stadium.

That loss sees the Foxes finish fifth in the Premier League, their second-best finish in the competition, ending the season on 62 points from 38 games, having won 18 matches during that time.

While it’s an impressive feat finishing above the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, and Everton on the final standing, Leicester know they could have done better if they had claimed more than just two wins since the restart.

After taking a few days to take stock of the entire season, Ndidi confesses that looking beyond their disappointment, they have had a fantastic year.

“We are a bit disappointed to finish 5th,” the Super Eagles star wrote on Twitter.

“But overall. It was a great season!

“I want to, first of all, thank our fans for being with us even when the stadiums were empty due to the pandemic, it was indeed a season to learn from and grow into next season thanks for support.”

Ndidi scored two goals and provided an assist during a campaign in which he also finished as the league’s joint-top tackler.
