The Nigeria international completed a permanent switch to Nantes recently and the early signs show it’s a great deal for all the parties involved
Levante coach Paco Lopez has suggested that sanctioning the departure of Moses Simon to the Nantes is of immense benefit to both the Spanish club and the Super Eagles star.
Nantes activated their option to sign Simon permanently after the speedy winger impressed at the Ligue 1 side during the just-concluded campaign.
Parting with €5 million looks a bargain for an attacker who netted nine times and created another eight goals in 30 games for the Yellow Canaries.
Levante, who paid a similar sum to KAA Gent to secure the signature of Simon two years ago, were, therefore, able to recoup a sizeable portion of the investment made on the Nigerian.
And with the La Liga side struggling financially, Lopez thinks that both the player and the club can look back at the deal and be satisfied with how their parting of ways panned out.
“Right now, with everything at stake, talking about the future right now doesn’t fit, ” the Levante coach said at a press conference, as per La Vanguardia, ahead of the game against Espanyol.
“If the sale of Simon benefits the club, phenomenal, and also, in this case, the player.”
Simon is a fans’ favourite in Nantes, where the Canaries supporters voted him as their Player of the Season.
