Osimhen Reveals What It Feels Like To Face Neymar

Just like Ice Prince once said “he’s getting salute from the rappers he respected, Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen has revealed what it feels like to play against players he used to adore

Osimhen moved to France from Belgium last summer, and it gave him the chance to face one of the game’s biggest stars in the person of Neymar Jnr.

The Brazilian used to be Osimhen’s idol, and he even tried to get a picture with him back in 2016. The Nigeria international has been a revelation in his debut season in France.

With 13 goals in 27 Ligue 1 games, Osimhen was one of the best strikers in Ligue 1 this season. He finished as the competition fourth-highest topscorer, levelled with Neymar, five behind Mbappe and Ben Yedder who both finished as the league’s top marksman.

His exploits have seen been being linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.

But despite the rise in his profile, Osimhen revealed he still felt starstruck when he came up against Neymar in Lille’s clash against PSG.

The 21-year-old missed the first leg of the clash between the two sides due to suspension, but he featured in the return leg at Parc Des Princes, and he got the chance to play against Neymar for the first time at club level.

“So when we played PSG in Paris, in the tunnel, he (Neymar) came out, and I was starring at him like,” Osimhen told Eaglestracker on Instagram.

“In 2016, I was struggling to take a picture with him, and now he’s standing beside me. We’re sharing the pitch, it was like mindblowing.

He added that playing against Neymar was as a result of hard work, and urged upcoming stars never to relent and always put God first.

“Anything is possible if you work hard and you put God first, and work towards what you want to achieve in life,” Osimhen added.
