The AC Omonia goalkeeper has been out of action since November 2019 after picking up an injury in Nigeria’s international friendly clash against Brazil
Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has revealed he’s approaching full fitness and should be back playing football anytime soon.
The former Elche goalkeeper suffered a knee ligament damage in the Super Eagles match against Brazil last November.
Uzoho was stretchered off after landing awkwardly on his knees as he tried to deal with a cross from the left.
Following examinations at the hospital, it was discovered he suffered ligament damage and would be out for seven to eight months. Six months in, the Nigeria international says his recovery is going on well, and he should be back in two months.
Although he is yet to regain full fitness, Uzoho revealed he’s now kicking a ball again and can also jump without the fear of damaging his ligament again.
“I started working on getting better, it’s now six months, I am a lot better now,” Uzoho said in an Instagram live chat with the Super Eagles account.
“I can kick the ball now, jump. I’m still a couple of months away from full fitness, but out of the danger zone where I might damage the ligament again. There is no fear of that now.
“Its strengthening exercises now on my left leg, but I should be back playing in the next two months,” he added.
