The not so good news is that the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states are only a few days into a government-imposed two weeks lockdown, which is a crucial measure in curbing the spread of the pandemic COVID-19.
The good news is that some people now have the chance to slow down and work from home, and many will seize the time to spend quality time with their loved ones.
Recently, Thibaut Courtois uploaded a post where he was playing NBA2K with Borussia Dortmund’s Matt Hummels.
This is one of the ways to keep yourself active during this lockdown, and that’s why Soccernet is giving five fun ways you and your family can beat the boredom. After all, it’s a lockdown and not a jail term.
1. Indoor Exercise
Due to the lockdown, it is not the best time to run outside or go to the gym. But there are still a few cute ways to get your juice flowing.
If you’re looking for simple exercises to get you sweating and your heart pumping, we’ve got you covered here.
For those of you desiring to go as far as reducing your stomach fat and get your tummy looking flat, do find a way to add some fun to your routine.
2. Music
There’s no better time to enjoy all that music you have been collecting for so long. It’s no crime to bless your spirit and soul with some sweet sounds.
And if you’re adept at playing the guitar or keyboard, now is the perfect time to pass down a few tricks to your kids. Making music may be the only thing better than listening to music.
3. Dance
It gets better by grooving to the cool sounds blasting from the electronics.
Author Dave Barry once wrote, “Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.” That is so true, especially these days when your audience is made up mostly of your spouse and kids.
No matter how good or bad your dance moves are, they are bound to cheer and clap. Encourage them to join you on the dance floor as well. As the music rolls, get on your feet and shake them hips.
4. Online classes
You may also take advantage of the idle hours to learn something new by taking an easy online course or tutorial.
YouTube is an excellent resource in this regard. It has a tonne of videos on crafts, Do-It-Yourself tutorials, and even materials on learning a new language, like French.
5. Gaming
It’s always a perfect time to play games, even more so when there are several hours to burn during a lockdown.
There are ideal traditional games for the family, such as Ludo, Monopoly, Scrabble, and even Chess. If the board games are not readily available, you may download them onto your tablet or laptop.
It becomes more fun when you involve the kids and do Wii competitions.
Above all, please do stay safe.
