Former Super Eagles Star Urges Marseille To Sign Moses, Osimhen

Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon are two of Nigeria’s best attackers at the moment, and ex-international Taye Taiwo wants the duo to continue their development at the Stade Velodrome.

Taiwo, who enjoyed a six-year stay at Olympique de Marseille amassing close to 200 league appearances, has urged the French side to make Nigerian forwards Simon and Osimhen their top transfer targets in the summer.

Simon, on loan from La Liga side Levante, as impressed at Nantes this term. The 24-year-old has netted nine goals and creating eight assists across all competitions for the Canaries.

Nantes are aware of the winger’s quality and are believed to be interested in making his temporary stay permanent.

Osimhen’s star has shone even brighter in his debut campaign in France, with the former U-17 world champion smashing in 18 goals and providing another six assists in 38 games since joining Lille in the summer.

Manchester United lead a long queue of top European sides trying to snap up the 21-year-old from Les Dogues’ grip.

But former Super Eagles defender, Taiwo, has charged Marseille to join the race for the two brilliant forwards.

The RoPS left-back, fully aware of the enormous pressure that comes with playing for OM, is confident that his compatriots can cope with the demands of featuring for France’s most supported club.

“It (Signing Moses Simon) really is not bad! Frankly, it is good,” the former AC Milan fullback told FootballClubde Marseille.

“When you come from Nantes to play in Marseille, it’s another world. You have to have the mentality because it’s different to play for Nantes or Marseille. It would be nice if he came to play at OM.

“And there is also Lille striker Victor Osimhen, he would be good for Marseille, and for him to know the pressure. Marseille need keen players like that to play for the club,” Taye Taiwo noted.
