The former Bordeaux manager’s current contract with the Super Eagles expires in two months, but discussions are underway for an extension.
Following Amaju Pinnick’s comments that Gernot Rohr’s new contract will be ready next week, Rohr has expressed what he wants from the new deal.
The German tactician revealed he does not want more money, but he wants to be given the freedom to work as he did in the past.
Earlier this week, Pinicnk revealed Rohr would have to agree to NFF’s new terms before he can earn a contract renewal.
The new terms include living in Nigeria, earning in Nigerian currency and nurturing players from the local league.
While Rohr already hinted he wouldn’t have a problem with these terms, the former Gabon manager does not want any interference with his job.
Speaking in an interview with Colin Udoh on Instagram, Rohr revealed he wants assurances he would be free to operate as he did in the past.
“I am waiting for the proposal,” Rohr said. Things could be very very easy because I don’t want more money, I don’t want more bonus. I don’t want anything special.
“I only want to work free like I could with success in the past,” the German tactician added.
